Sex Robots

Another of my little finds while trawling the www looking for in-with-the-new stuff. Well actually google delivered this story (sorry can't find the article now) to me but it was interesting, very real too and lots of sales going through as well as large percentages of men and women (men the majority) saying they would consider using one.

The manufacturers and retails claimed it wasn't just for sexual recreation, they could play a big part in helping disabled people, re-educating sex offenders and even playing a part in sex education. They claimed the actual mechanical functions of the machines were improving all the time and their artificial intelligence was tuning into the nuances of sexual interactions including fetishes of all sorts and that they would get better as they went along and remembered their owners' preferences and could add to them by way of online training and updating.

Stuff of science fiction? Yep but it's happening by all accounts. I hope they don't start making dominatrixes (I've got a couple who buy from me)my cane sales will go down:)

That reminds me of the ‘Humans’ series on TV. The idea is pretty creepy.

Hi Ronnie, that looks a bit off putting to me!

Hi Ronnie, very interesting. I'm not quite sure what to make of it.

That's very scary. I am not comfortable with artificial intelligence. They could take over the world!

Remember many years ago buying a blow up sex doll at an adult store as a gag birthday present for a male friend who was single. She was complete with 3 openings from which her owner could choose. We chained her up in the corner of the guy's bathroom. He loved her, and she remained hanging there for a good long time.

The sex robot does seem a little creepy, but I always say "to each his own."

Well it's an interesting idea. And if they are out there they do need to be programed for different fetishes. But even if someone uses a robot, they would still need them to use a good cane!

While robots themselves have a negative connotation, the very real possibility of using programming for people in various situations to use for various reasons is very positive. If anyone needs to see how an artificial program can be used to make life better on a very real level should watch the Emmy-winning episode of "Black Mirror" entitled 'San Junipero'. Like I actual robots.....but the idea is the same, just a little more "Matrix-y". (Or if you are an old Star Trek fan, check out the two-part "Menagerie" episode.)

Safer than breaking the law, but each to his own.

Baker said...

Okay, that's weird, but to each his own. I side with those who think it's creepy.

What next? I'm not sure I want to know.

Hmmm ... do these have a place in society? Hard to say. But, as for me, I'll keep my human contact, intact. ;)

I listened to an entire podcast on this subject. I did find it creepy but at the same time, I'd much rather someone get off with a robot than take advantage of a person who does not want to participate in their sexual act. The whole AI thing scares me. Too much can be used for evil instead of good.

frightening... I see so many young woman and men not pairing up, and know of numerous friends of our children who have not got a partner. A sad evolution, almost needs a return to arranged marriages.

wow. I dont really know what to think about this. Perhaps if it IS used for good (rehab etc) i could see how it would be a positive contribution to the world.

Cat said...

Not quite sure what to make of this...guess I can see some benefits but at the same time, I can see where it would encourage people to even less human interaction. Sad really. What's scary is that I saw another that was very unnerving as it was a child to be used by pedophiles! So wrong on so many levels.

Thanks for sharing, Ronnie. Oh and if they make a dominatrix version, you might have more buyers as some people who are scared to go to a dominatrix could get one and then buy your canes!

Hugs and blessings...Cat
