I haven't tried this myself but a colleague made it for a cake event at the office. It was lovely so I got the recipe to share with you.
A chocolate, rye and raisin cake
Right, go get your ingredient...
175g unsalted butter (room temperature)
170g soft light brown sugar
3 eggs (room temperature)
4 tbsp cocoa powder
100g dark rye flour
100g self-raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
Salt
120ml whole milk
150g raisins
120g chocolate, broken into pieces
Large bowl
1kg loaf tin (8x10x20cm)
Greaseproof paper
Cooling rack.
All ready? Let's get started then...
Apron on
Line your loaf tin with greaseproof paper and heat your oven to 170C fan (190C non-fan).
then
In your bowl, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy and pale in colour
(Don't know where his apron's gone)
then
beat the eggs in one by one
beat the eggs in one by one
(yes I know you've seen it before:))
Once eggs have been fully incorporated, fold through
Cocoa
Rye flour
Self-raising flour
Baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
Add the milk at intervals to make a thick batter
Finally fold though the raisins and chocolate pieces.
Spoon into your lined loaf tin
Place in oven on middle shelf and cook for 50-55 minutes, or until skewer comes out of the centre clean and the cake is risen and springs back when touched.
Leave loaf in tin to rest on cooling rack for 20 minutes. Take out and slice into thick slices, serve with a cup of hot tea. Lovely
and gentlemen, I suggest you remember to clear away properly
Or you're partner will have something to say.
Some wonderful recipes for you to try - so go check them out but remember, December 7th takes a full 24 hours across the
globe. So if someone hasn’t posted yet,
don’t moan, just go back later.

Hmmm...
I could have SWORN I left a comment this morning.
The funny thing was, it was all about how distracted I was - so apparently, I was even more distracted than I realized... (Between that recipe, those shoulders, and no coffee, a girl doesn't stand a chance!)
The cake sounds yummy, with a hint of interesting. I'll have to give it a go. :-)
