Take time today...

to remember

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Today,
Tomorrow,
Forever.

Thanks Ronnie. In the states, Veterans are now "honored" with a free meal at many restaurants. Not sure how I feel about that.

I have heard these words every year, and they mean more every time you read or hear them.
We must remember: Freedom is NOT Free, the quote on the memorial in Washington for those who served in Korea.

I have never heard this poem before. It is short but says so much. I love how Roz remembered the families, too.

Hugs,
Ella

Hi Ronnie, remembering here, watched the ceremony this morning. I don't know why but whenever I see Prince Harry lay a wreath I want to cry...
