And no heatwave in sight so all our staycationers (I should point out I will be one) will have to make do with our usual rain, shivery too-cold-for-swim-in-sea, overpriced tat and queues to get in anywhere.
At least the resorts will make some money.... but I wonder how many businesses will regard the boost caused by the covid travel chaos as an opportunity to rip off or to show what they're capable of offering in a good light in the hope they might get repeat business.I wouldn't bet too much on the latter but I'll find out in the coming weeks because we're going to take a couple of mini-breaks last-minute, P won't fly with all the hassle of tests and risk of policy changes. So it's good old 'blighty' for now and no swimming for P. Ah well he gets some (pool) swimming in, he's teaching our granddaughter:)
And for me, hopefully a couple of spankings during our breaks.
Stay safe.
Have a good week.

Maybe P should give you a spanking for negative thoughts.
Many businesses in Holiday hot spots do have a bad reputation for customer service. However, there are many that want (and deserve) repeat business because they try to be fair to their customers on both price and quality of goods or services.
If you are at or near the sea or in a holiday hotspot like the cotswolds prices can be much higher because the price of property or rents are considerably higher as can staff wages. Just because something or service is more expensive (from an independent retailer) that you think it should be don't assume that they are trying to rip you off, if it is of a high standard they are trying to earn a year's income in just a quarter of the year.
Hi Ronnie,
I wouldn't want to travel at the moment, too much risk of getting stuck. We have travel between NZ and Australia. However, with Covid cases cropping up in Australia, travel between the affected states and here keeps being suspended.
Hope you have a wonderful time on your mini breaks, and that you find some nice weather and manage to fit in some spanking.
Hugs
Roz
I can not get over how expensive everything is becoming! and we keep hearing covid as the excuse
Here our government offered compensation to workers (still do) who lost their jobs due to closures. But now restaurants etc are trying to reopen but many are chosing to stay home and collect the gov monies....that means many of our service industries are short staffed and service is poor...people are complaining
I hope you enjoy your mini breaks and that the spankings are not so mini :)
Enjoy your mini-breaks. We are staying close to home.
Hugs,
Hermione
I think you should just walk up to P and hand him the holey paddle and tell him you need a spanking for being negative. Hopefully, he will take you over his knee and spank some fun into you!
Have not had a vacation in the last 18 months, but going on a short four day holiday soon! Enjoy your mini breaks, and stiff upper lip and have a dip in the ocean. I will always go in, no matter how cold it is. You can then ask P to help warm you up with a spanking when you get back to where you are staying.

The Long Bean - Not negative at all. I do understand that they have lost a year's income (and more) but there are those will add silly amounts. We've had some friends return from the Lakes (they go every year) and said how much things have gone up and I looked at two cottages down south last week looking to book and this week they are both £100.00 dearer.
Roz - We thought about going away to Spain but too much hassle. Tests and if our Government happen to add Spain to the red list we would have to self isolate in a hotel at our own expense. Just heard New Zealand going into lockdown. Thanks.
Morningstar - Thanks. We are short of haulage drivers in the UK. Pubs, restaurants and nightclubs are open. Sadly some smaller pubs have been unable to last and have had to sell.
Hermione - Thanks. Home is good.
Anonymous - Thanks but I'm not negative just how it is in some holiday places.
Red - No, I wont go in the sea when its so cold. P might but doubt it this time. Enjoy your break. Thanks.
Love,
Ronnie
