Home Physio

Earlier in the year, pre-pandemic days, my husband identified a shoulder problem, I posted about it at the time. He's not one for physio's or doctors but he did, reluctantly, eventually, make a call to his GP. Pandemic had broken out by then so he was fixed up with a video appointment with a physiotherapist. Long story short, he has been following guided self help therapy since then. It has been progressive, he has attended a face-to-face on one occasion with all the protection just to check him over, and it seems to be changing things.

His actual problem is a defective rotator cuff in his right shoulder, it's a lot longer to fix it than to develop it but there are early signs. The bonus (I mean worry for me):), potentially, is harder spankings.

The rehab programme is all exercise based and part of it involves using tension bands to reawaken and bolster certain muscle movements. P is now using the highest resistance they issued and his muscle power is altering upwards. Now the object is to recover range and mobility not strength, which P didn't appear to be short of, but strength is nonetheless increasing. It isn't all plain sailing but that's the gist of it. I had a little taste of it last weekend, it was just play but it felt like his hand does when he's been doing manual jobs around the house or outside for several days. Energised.

Here's hoping for a full recovery:)

Stay safe and try and have a fun weekend.

He should give the shoulder a rest and let you take over the spanking for a while....perhaps As his personal trainer with a hairbrush to keep him on track with his regime?

Keep up the good work. Perhaps you could encourage his range of motion by bending over the desk and making him stand six feet away.

Hugs,
Hermione

It sound like things are good all around. And I'm sure adding a paddling motion or a good caning could only help him on the road to recovery.

Happy to know the physio is helping, and that both of you are seeing the benefits.

I agree with everyone. Another form of physio. Paddle, cane or spoon..... all of the above add to the resistance. You will be the beneficiary of his progress!
