I shall be out of the country for a few days next
weekend, not exactly unexpectedly because my husband has been keeping very quiet
about his rescheduled Ryanair flight booking which caused a bit of friction
between us the other week. He said he was going to cancel and get his money back (he told me he had cancelled) but he hadn't; instead he diverted it to another destination on the coast. I
asked him why, what was wrong with Madrid. He said nothing but if we (or
Ryanair) had kept to the original plan we wouldn't have spent much time in
Madrid anyway. That was true but I saw it as an opportunity. He saw it
differently, he said instead why not spend the time we would have spent mostly
in Salamanca, and a bit in Madrid, somewhere on the coast, enjoy the sea
air, eat some good fish, meander through old town streets, visit a castle or
two, relax.
He's done it anyway without asking me, and I
agreed, you don't look a gift horse in the mouth. It's unusual
for P, he must have felt sorry for me:) Anyway he hasn't booked a hotel
thank goodness so I'll do that and look forward to a few days
break and hopefully a spanking or two.
