Am I am the only one who'd forgotten EL
James' Fifty Shades Darker is out this week (I didn't have it in my diary,
naughty me:))?
Anyway I went to have my nails done last Thursday and my nail girl was getting quite excited
about it, apparently 15 of her customers and girls are going to see it on
its opening day, I almost said to her I hope you're going for a drink or maybe a bite to
eat too, just to make it worthwhile because I can't imagine the movie doing it. Then on Friday a couple of office colleagues said they'd be seeing it too, they
didn't say when.
I haven't seen the first film or read any of the books and very much doubt if
I'll be going to see this film, P said he'd come with me to see Jackie but I wouldn't even dare ask him if he'd
like to see 'Fifty..' I know what his answer would be.
So, will you be going to see it? Just curious.
Have a good week.

Hi Ronnie, I have read the books and saw the first film, more out of curiosity than anything else. I kinda enjoyed the first film, but wouldn't rave about it so wouldn't get hopes up about the second.

I read the first book on an airplane and found it a quick easy read. The second one took longer but I finished it. As for the movie, I wish they had cast it differently but Darker may be better on the big screen. It was more Hollywood in story and plot. We'll see. It was a year out before I rented the first one. Amy
I'm afraid to see them, I don't want to watch them fix any parts they find too much. What Hollywood will find palatable versus what we enjoy for real!
I do want to see Jackie,,,,saw the first Shades when we watched it at home....enjoyed the first book, have the other two have not started them yet. hugs abby
will probably watch at home when it comes out on video...don't get to the movies much these days unless they are are rated G/PG :-) Hugs
Ronnie,
While I did enjoy the first book, I was pretty ho-hum about the other two. The first movie did not "float my boat" either. But I have a date with 2 great friends to see the movie together on Friday. We will post a review asap.

If you keep it all in the right frame of mind it's a real hoot. I enjoyed the book very much. Well written? No not at all, but someone was bringing my kink into the main stream and I wanted to support her. The first movie was all right I guess, certainly not the best. But Nick took me to see it and it led to a wonderful afternoon. I'm going to see it with friends, but Nick wants me to go back with him. He's a sweetie.
We won't be going to see it. I didn't see the first one either and from what I have heard I didn't miss much. Only got halfway through the first book. It's still on my eReader; if I remember to charge up the battery I might finish it someday.
Hugs,
Hermione
As you already know, some friends and I will be seeing the movie on Friday. The first one was so so but after reading the book and all the hype, I had to see. Pretty much feel the same about this one too. It's good conversation topic.
I read the whole, badly written but entertaining, trilogy. I bought the DVD of the first film but probably won't buy the others, I think the main characters are badly miscast, little chemistry between the leads.
I shall be forever grateful to ELJ, though. If not for her, I wouldn't be the happily spanked wife I am today.

hi Ronnie, we will be going to both of them. I can't wait, whichever is out first will be first on our list.
love Jan, xx
I never read the book because I saw the author in an interview where she failed terribly. It was obvious she did a lot of research and had had a great publisher, but didn't seem to have any hands on experience by the way she answered the questions. I notice she hasn't popped up this time with interviews for the second one like she did the first. I did see the first one because my spouse was curious, and wanted to see what the buzz was about. it was not what she expected at all. I could see the new one for free, but the scenes of the coming attraction of it, didn't even raise an eyebrow...
peace and 💕

I absolutely love reading but the books were so poorly written and unrealistic that I could not finish them...just skimmed through. I saw the movie when my TV provider offered a weekend of free premium movies...sure wouldn't pay to see it. Was not really impressed...to me, there was really no chemistry between the two, he did not come off as a Dom of any kind, the dialogue was pitiful and the scene where she asks him to give her a punishment spanking is totally ridiculous. I know, I'm probably in the minority but I seem to find myself in that position most of my life. LOL
Hugs and blessings...Cat

Rosie - As I said I haven't seen it but I agree about the characters being miscast. Personally I'm not a fan of Dornan anyway.
Jan - Jackie is out now and Fifty Darker comes out on Friday 10th.
1ManView - I saw EL in an interview and thought the same, could have been the same interview. Thanks.
Cat - Interesting to hear your take on first film. Thanks. One or two say about the chemistry between them.

I've read the trilogy and saw the first movie on dvd at home. Wasn't impressed with it though. so don't think we'll be going to the 2nd movie.
Will be interested to hear what others think though.
