Just a quick update as were travelling around today and I'm trying mobile blogging so I hope it works, I know I can schedule posts but never like doing that so here goes while P's in the local Planning dept office and I'm sitting in the car because we're off to a meeting directly after he finishes. I hope the picture appears too, I'm not certain how it will position itself coming from my phone as an attachment. Whoo techno me!
Yesterday our son Graduated, it was lovely and a very proud day for us, he looked so handsome and grown up in his cap and gown. No I didn't cry, P said he was surprised but certainly brought a lump to my throat. Graduation Ceremony was held in the Cathedral which dated back to the 15th century. Shame we couldn't take photo in there, I would have liked to share, the inside was wonderful.
One thing did peeve me though and to me was totally unacceptable and rude. Once the earlier students received their certifcates some of the parents got up and left, must have been about 20 or more doing that. I wanted to get up and stop them at the door and tell them off, really disrespectful. I know a lot of other parents thought the same. P said maybe they had a long journey back but you know what, when it had finished we went into town for lunch I definitely spotted at least 2 sets of the rude parents wandering throught the old streets and then another set where we ate. I didn't say anything, it was over, but god how selfish and thoughtless can some people be.

I hate when people do that... at the graduations here they have a rule that you can't whoop or hollar... lol...southern style... a few people try it and actually get hauled off to jail...
Love reading your blogs... will definitely be back...

Ronnie,
I live in a city where the goal is not to wait in traffic after any event. I've watched people leave after ballets. I too find it exceedingly rude. The selfish level of individuals never ceases to rub me the wrong way. I have however turned it into a chuckle so I don't implode. Greg & I always say, "Who cares if the game is tied with 5 minutes left?"
Congrats on your son's graduation. I'm so happy for all 3 of you. I'll be kissing the proverbial motherground of thanks very soon myself. Yikes are we really old enough to have this happen?!!
Good work on being a geek girl! Have a great weekend!
Ronnie, a big congratulations to you! You must be so proud! That was really unkind of those parents...people are really rude at times. And I am sure impressed with your cyber abilities!!!
Sara
wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, congratulations to a very proud mom... and every right to be so... this sure is a treshold... and I hope he will have a bright sunny future...
love, Lessa
Congratulations on your sons graduation. I am proud you held your tongue, I wouldn't have been so polite. Hope you have a great weekend.
Katia
Let me add my congratulations, as well. Remember when he was so small you could hold him in your arms?
It was rude of those people to leave like that. On the other hand, you don't care what those people are thinking anyway--let them go about their self-occupied lives.
HUGE congratulations to your son, and to his very rightly very proud parents.
I agree with everyone about how rude those people were, and yet I'm not surprised either. Sadly it seems to be happening more and more these days.
love and hugs xxx
Ronnie: Congrats on your son's graduation. You must have a hard time believing he's all grown up. You must have a lot of great memories. And sorry that those people were so rude. We like to those the people across the pond have better manners than that but I guess not. Anyway, congrats for holding your tongue.

Ronnie - Congratulations on mobile posting! The picture was fine. I always schedule, and can't imagine doing it remotely, so good for you.
At the last graduation I attended, people whooped and hollered too, and I was shocked! Yes, leaving before the end is definitely rude.
How proud you both must feel to be the parents of a graduate. What's next for him?
Hugs,
Hermione
Sexy Kitten - Hello. That's a good rule. Thank you and I do hope you will pop back.
KayLynn - It's the same here, fine if they leave before the end of a football or rugby match but to get up when people are speaking or performing just isn't on. You seem to have a good weekend coming up, hope you enjoy it.
Sara - Thank you. Oh yes so very proud. I already have a photo of us up on the wall:) We don't get his offical one until the end of the month.
Lessa - Thank you. Yes, this mom is a proud one :)
Katia - Thanks. I really did want to say something but left it. Wouldn't have been right.
Mick - That's very kind of you. Time goes by so quickly, it seems only yesterday when I was walking the floor with him trying to get him to sleep. Your right about letting them get on but rudeness does get to me.
M:e - Yes very proud parents. I sometimes don't understand what goes through people's minds to do that.
FD - Hello and thank you. Yes good memories. I did an albumn for his 21st with photos from when he was born until his 21st. Some fun ones.
Hermione - To be honest I had to ask P to set it up for me. Not sure how a large picture would come out.
A couple of stood up and shouted for their daughter but that was all.
He's been travelling around Europe for a month and now down to finding a career if possible or at least a job to start. Quite bad for the young to find employment at the moment.
Thank you all for your kind comments and congratulations. P said to say thanks as well.
Love.
