Humdrum

Louise never would have whinged so much about their humdrum existence if she'd known what John was up to.

She'd wondered what all the bumping and banging was in the spare room.

When John told her he was going to take her somewhere special, she'd gleefully dressed her best. But John had dressed her down again to just the level he wanted.

Now, secured firmly by her husband and awaiting his pleasure, she felt decidedly un-humdrumish.


They would still be going out, said John, but he wanted to address the matter of humdrum first.
