According to French scientists, men just want to sleep after sex whereas us girls are usually up for more.
I read it in Sunday's Times but the Telegraph also carried the story, I asked P about it, whether he felt tired or anything after sex. He said no and he wouldn't normally have time for even a cat nap because our sex is often impromptu, squeezed in amongst other things rather than at the end of day bedtime thing. Then he picked up on the other part of the research, the bit about women wanting more, he asked me if I thought it was true, I didn't answer but he said if it was it just boiled down to men are lazy and women are sex maniacs.
My husband likes to see things in simple terms:)
So does your man fall asleep after sex and ladies do you want more?

ReplyDeleteYes, men get muscle weakness after orgasm and yes, women want more orgasms. Generally speaking my wife gets her orgasms first and then allows me to finish off.
Typically French wishful thinking. The men just want to sleep and they want their womenfolk to be sex maniacs (not really off course, that would disturb the sleep, but it's more like what you tell stupid scientists.)
ReplyDeleteThe question was not really directed at the menfolk, but I can answer for us: If sex happens late at night, yes, I fall asleep (and Lisa too), it's a wonderfull way of falling asleep.
If sex happens in the morning, no, I don't fall asleep, I step out of bed afterwards (so does Lisa), it's a wonderful way to wake up.
If sex happens ......, oh well lets just say, sex is wonderful and everything you do afterwards, gets better.
As we don't have much of the bedtime sex due to our son still sleeping in our bed I have no idea and it would be quite difficult for B to sleep on the bathroom floor,kitchen,his office etc:)

I do not fall asleep after sex. Usually, we just cuddle and talk for some time. We shower together and will almost never go right to sleep. LD seems very satisfied, but I cannot answer for her.

As empty nesters we often have sex in the afternoon. Usually we both sleep for a few minutes after sex still curled up together. I can't always tell if I'm waking up or coming to.

I am going to say mostly we cuddle afterwards, but my husband usually goes to sleep before I do. And, yes, there are times I've wanted more. Not all the time so what the others have said applies--circumstances, being tired, busy day...all these things play a part:)

Ronnie: the earlier in the day, the more energy exists for making love. If just before going to sleep, then we go right to sleep afterwards. The advantage of sex during the day is it is awesome, and you can enjoy the bliss the remainder of the day.

I think the sleep comes cos it's late and he's tired. He's had multiple cums in the afternoons and then stayed awake to talk and cuddle and play in bed. so i doubt sex has anything much to do with the need to sleep. more likely the lateness of the hour.

I missed this one. Anyway, i get tired of these so call studies... What age were these men? What physical condition were they in? If you fifty pounds over weight, dam skimpy you want to go to sleep after sex, after dinner, after a walk, etc...(hehe) if I have sex late at night, yes sometimes I get sleepy, but if she is ready to go, she knows what button to push, and sometimes she regrets she pushed it. :) In another "study", they found that men get tired after sex because of a certain hormone released after we climax. The older we get, the more it affects us.
