Massage

How was your weekend?

Have I mentioned I'm into massage. I've never had a professional massage, can you believe that. I may have had better than a professional massage, I can't judge because I've never been to a masseuse to be able to compare, and now I'm reading a book about it.

The massage I had was given by my husband and it was deep tissue massage, something he learned about from an Australian therapist when he had a back problem some years ago. The therapy treats the muscles, because they control the structures which cause most bad backs, and the massage technique works them really hard to release them. I understand it's known as myotherapy and is practised in the US as well as Australia, but hardly at all in the UK.

P eventually found a practitioner here, a French woman (no I didn't like the sound of it) she was about a 2 hour drive away but that's how hard it is to find a therapist in the UK. Anyway she turned out to be very good, her treatment was great and several sessions really put P on the road to recovery. He also learned a lot from her about technique. Added to what he'd already gathered from the Australian by email, and a book written by the same guy, P had and has a lot of knowledge about massage and one day after I'd been running and had some nagging pains he offered me one. I couldn't believe how much it hurt but the hurt was good (not like a spanking, quite different,) it took about 40 minutes and when I got off the bed I felt as if I was floating. Really, it was that good.

Now I've asked for them since and P's done them, and I must admit some of them have resulted in sex and one became a spank - massage session which actually I regretted because although it got me off, it degraded the quality of the massage which I can't over state is out of this world and I recommend it to any of you, not with my husband though.

Back to where I started, the book I'm reading is the one the Aussie guy sent P, there's a DVD too and when I think I'm ready I'm going to offer P a massage. My only concern is I might not be strong enough because it really does take some physical effort to get right into all those tight spots you didn't even know existed. I remember meeting the French woman (I travelled with P a couple of times, I'm not stupid) and although she was slight she had a very strong handshake, she was actually quite nice too.

So I'm going to give the deep massage a go anyway and when I do I'll tell you about it.

Oh I love massages too, I've never had a deep tissue massage before though but it sounds like a great way to de-stress :)

Never had a massage from a specialist. But relate with how difficult it is to find the right therapist/therapies in the UK.My sister is a GP and specialises in acupuncture for back problems...with alot of success. But the less tolerant members of the local community think she is some kind of witch doctor !!Sarah,LD,UK

I can tell you really loved it but I know for myself I am not a massage person! Someone puts there fingers on my neck and even massages lightly and I'm libel to turn around and deck them. Now my feet, that's another thing. I'd let someone massage them all day.

Glad you enjoyed your and that you have a husband that can do it for you. Good luck on giving him one.

Hugs,
PK

Hi,

In the US, the are called massage therapists. I have had many deep tissue massages. They are very painful, but also effective for releasing muscle tension. I also love a foot massage as well by my massage therapist.

I hope you give massage a try Ronnie; however, it may you a spanking if get really good at deep tissue massage and learn how to press down hard on trigger points.

Have fun,
joey

I've never had a professional massage either, although I did have therapy for a stiff neck and shoulder, and that felt very good. You're so lucky P knows how to give you one. The DVD sounds interesting.

Ronnie, in the last 2 years I learned the joys of deep tissue massage. Here it is quite common, and they even have couples massages at spas where you can both be is the same room. It's quite professional and no silly stuff!

I am a lucky girl bc Grant gives me a light massage every time we do our maintenance spankings.

I am sure P will LOVE his! Sara

Dee - You do feel so good after it. Thanks Dee.

Sarah - I know that acupuncture can be used with great success for many a problem. P's been to one but not for his back. Has she used her talents on you? Thanks Sara.

PK - It was wonderful PK, really does work wonders. I've thought of trying Reflexology but not got around to it. Thanks PK.

Joey - I agree painful but soooooo good. I'm determined to have a go. Thanks Joey.

Hermione - Oh I can image having therapy for a still neck must have felt good. I'm going to give it a go when I'm ready. Wish me luck. Thanks Hermione.

Sara - Your very lucky to be able to have it done regularly. It took P ages to evenually find the French women. The couples massage sounds interesting. Thanks Sara.

My oldest daughter has had a professional give her a massage for her back and has since had several more. She's a professional pianist and is at the piano for hours a day.

Anyway, great that you get them from P.

Kitty

I've never had a professional massage either. I have heard the deep tissue ones can hurt but overall can really help.

Kitty - Oh how lovely it must be to play the piano. Wish I had been taught to. Your daughter must be very talented. Thanks Kitty.

FD - You will as soon as I feel I'm ready and have had a go:) Thanks FD. I hear we have a new Lisa chapter. I'll look forward to reading that.

Lea - Yes it does but the hurt is well worth it as you feel so great after. Thanks Lea.

I have professional massages quite regularly....they sometimes leave me totally zoned out and unable to speak coherently, which is why I pay for a visiting masseuse (female!) so when she is finished, I roll off her table and on to the couch, she lets herself out and I sleep for hours! I have occasionally had Indian head massage too...which is seriously awesome!xxx

Daisy - I've heard about Indian massage and how good they are. Might just try one. Thanks Daisy.

So agree with Daisy, an Indian Head massage is a different experience altogether. I had one a few years ago and thought it amazing. You must try one :)

I often receive a deep massage.... from a flogger. It works a treat, unknots all those tense muscles and leaves me with the marks I so love. ;)
