How was your weekend? Hope all our American friends had a great Fourth of July.
You may remember me mentioning that it was P's birthday coming up and I couldn't decide whether to buy him a leather or wood implement. I still couldn't make up my mind so I bought both.
For leather I decided on the tawse (I'll show you the wooden one in another post)
I'm delighted to say P was most impressed with the tawse, it's 18" thick English leather but very supple, it has the maker's name on it and an 'H' stamped near the holding end, I know from my research the Scottish tawse makers used to grade them L, M, H according to their weight so I guess I bought the Heavy one without even knowing it. Honest!
We haven't had any real time to play with it but P did give me a couples of swats across my backside to thank me for his 'private' presents, I can tell you it seemed very impressive even over jeans.
I'm looking forward to having more time with the tawse, I understand Scottish school girls and boys were kept in line over many generations by its presence and firm application by experienced and austere headmasters and headmistresses. Apparently the spilt tail has a unique feel, quite different from other disciplinary implements, I'll be sure to let you know.

Ronnie,
This one is beautiful! Although I'm not wild about mine I can tell by looking at yours it will have a very different feel. I hope you both enjoy P's gift and I can't wait to hear about the wooden one.
Hugs,
PK
Ronnie: WOW, that is very impressive and it may give him more incentive to try it out.
Be sure to let us know what it is like.

This is one implement we have never tried, but have heard it can be quite impressive. I await a full report!
Looks yummy, but the thinner, the ouchier, I believe. I must put one on my Christmas list.
Can't wait to see the wooden implement.
Hugs,
Hermione
Nice! I can't wait to hear about the first test with it! You're a bit braver than me, though... I don't think I could do that one.
*hugs*

Just a test as comments seem to be disappearing.

PK - It is quite lovely and I can't wait to actually find out what it feels like.
FD - P was impressed with it and I'm sure he will enjoy using it.
Sara - This is one implement I've wanted to try for a while and will definitely report back.
Hermione - I've read that the split in the leather is a different feel. Sorry don't get too excited about the wooden one, not as nice as the tawse.
Thanks all, appreciate your comments.
Love,
Ronnie

Don't worry, Ronnie, I will never get excited about ANY wooden implement!!! Leather is always the best! It looks great but very sting-y...the sort of thing you fantasise about yet get very nervous about feeling in reality!!! Hugs, look forward to the review!!! xxxxxxxxxxx
