Amusing

We recently enjoyed a couple of trips to two seaside towns. Brought back memories of holiday visits there with family when I was a child. I loved the seaside and still do.

British summer and bank holiday trips to the coast used to be synonymous with bucket and spade, ice cream stolen by seagulls, greasy fish and chips and… rain. But don’t forget another popular aspect of the golden age of seaside breaks: the saucy postcard.

Here's a few by Bamforth and Co.  Enjoy.

These sort of postcards were banned in the 1950's

I remember seeing an old postcard of this type where a skimpily-dressed young woman was lying face down on the beach sunbathing and an older, stout lady on the promenade was looking at her and saying…some girls get tanned where they should be spanked!

Oh they are great!
And in the 50's they were idiots to ban them!
Thanks :)

These are great, Ronnie. Thanks for sharing them. Our version of "The ceiling needs to be painted," is "Look at that spot on the carpet!"
