A Pastry and a Paddling

We were in Solihull the weekend, there was a sale in J Lewis where I wanted some kitchen ware. On the way back to the car I fancied a coffee and croissant, the weather was rubbish but there were still plenty of people sitting outside bars and cafes........until we got to this one. Which was deserted, like the Marie Celeste.

One table had been used and then left, uncleared.

Then my husband spotted what he said must be the reason............someone had left a huge paddle out on one of the tables.

Perhaps people were too frightened to take a seat in case they dropped crumbs or something and the owner expressed his/her displeasure in a traditional way.

"Hmm.... I don't think so, P," I laughed.

We didn't stop for coffee though but I got him to take the pictures on his Nokia

Why not? Was the coffee that bad?

Too funny! I can never understand why people want to sit outdoors when the weather is bad.

My wife and I were asked if we wanted to sit at an outside table in Baltimore last week. It was 107!!!

We decided to wait 10 minutes for an indoor table.

Thank you for the story.

Wow some places are getting down right bold leaving implements out like that. I think any place that encourages spanking that much deserves your patronage!

Maybe someone got paddled and everything left. Interesting thought. Hope your weather is better.

Ronnie: the mind of a spanko never wanders. Any item that can be used for a spanking is immediately our focal point for the moment.
Too bad, as you were not in your hometown, that P didn't take the opportunity to give you one playful swat with it.

SG - LOL that could be it. Dry today SG. Thanks.

Red - Thank goodness he didn't. I would have been embarrassed as there were rather a lot of people about:) Cheers Red.

Maybe the implement left like that, inspired many/or some to hurry home for a little private spanking party!

Thanks for popping over and following me. I've added you to my blogroll too.

Also, OUCH is all I can say to THAT paddle! LOL

Haha. I would have been mezmerized by that paddle. I would have stood in the pouring rain staring at that, making up stories about it. So glad you got the picture.

Those chairs are not very substantial and the table looks tippy for bending over, hm... How'd they do it?

It looks far too heavy to hold with one hand, but the handle seems to short for two! I think some research is in order!

Spanked at an open air cafe table! Now that's my idea of good street theater :)

It might have been left out after staff training before the cafe was opened up that morning.

Very funny. Makes you wonder who was at the table and what caused them to rush off.

Maybe the owner left that huge paddle on show to remind any customers EXACTLY what to expect if they do not pay their bill.

Correction Man.
