Spanking Dearth

It's a pain in the neck, or it might be. My husband described it as a pain in the arse but it definitely isn't that as I pointed out jokingly, saying that if it was I could probably advise him on it. He smiled, he hasn't lost his sense of humour.

But for the last week he's has almost constant migraine type head pains which simmer at a very low level, so low as to hardly bother him, but rage up suddenly and very sharply if he moves his head abruptly, only to dissipate again almost the second he stops said movement. Now, P has had migraines since he was a kid and he's been through all the various phases of them, grand mal, weird vision, numbness, nausea and years ago pain so bad it used to frighten me to witness. He's seen the usual experts, none have had real answers, and thankfully they haven't been too invasive the last few years, the quantity of pain has been less, thank goodness.

I know sufferers often get affected in different ways and I'm not trying to stir up a debate about them, but this is odd and different to anything he has experienced in the past, at least its protractedness is. Painkillers aren't relevant because the cause of the pain is sharp movement and cure for it is stopping the movement. Anyway he told me I can be as cheeky as I like, play my face, argue over any trivia I care to, demand jobs get done, whatever I like really, and I'm safe from a spanking because it would hurt him more than it would hurt me to deliver one!

Trouble is I don't want to do any of the aforementioned while he's like this. He said he'll have a chat with his doctor this week, I said I'll make notes of all the things I might have said but didn't and he can deal with them when he's back to normal:)

Small note, any sufferers out there had any success with chiropractors, physios etc? I read sometimes over-tense neck and shoulder muscles can cause similar feelings.

Have a good week.

Hi Ronnie, poor P, migraines are awful. I get them but for me I get the visual disturbance and am wiped out but the head ache itself is more of a niggle, though hard to get rid of. I think a visit to the Doc is a good idea. Hope it clears soon.

Had to giggle at you keeping a list of the things you would have said lol.

Hugs
Roz

I mean to add, my Mother used to get terrible migraines and eventually discovered taking a diazepam tablet as soon as the symptoms started stopped it.

It may sound silly and it probably wouldn't work on a true migraine but I suffered from migraine like problems which disappeared when I had a wisdom tooth removed. It's amazing how many problems that don't appear to be dental related are actually caused by issues with your teeth.

Poor P. Simon's reply was interesting, and I have heard similar stories. Why not let Google help you, and do some online research about migraines. You never know what you might learn.

I have only had what I think was a migraine once. It hurt terribly to move my head, and I had to call into work to tell them I was sick. Unfortunately, the work phone lines were down and I couldn't get through to the secretary, so I had to keep on trying every half hour or so until noon when she finally answered. Ouch!

Hugs,
Hermione

I've had great success with chiropractors. Tense neck and shoulder muscles can definitely cause headaches - trust me.

He might want to check his bed pillow. I've found that sometimes is the problem.

Hope the issue is fixed soon, for both your sakes.

I said I'll make notes of all the things I might have said but didn't...

You really are a good and caring wife.

I love the sassy things Bacall says when she is being spanked, then puts her hand over her mouth and says I can't believe I said that.

Ronnie,
So sorry to hear about P. Hoss and one of our daughters suffer from intense migraines. Hoss refers to the niggling pain as a creeper as it does just that intensifies under certain situations such as moving too quickly or what have you. He has found great relief using a combination of migraine meds, caffeine and ibuprofen. Something about the combination along with some rest helps.

He's also used a chiropractor and even recently purchased a neck massager that helps greatly. I hope P gets relief soon.

I love that you are keeping tabs on your behavior to provide to P. That's awesome! I'm sure it will be much appreciated by him at a later date.

give our best wishes to P that this problem disappears soon. Hope P sees the doctor ASAP, as a starting point in finding what is triggering this problem.! Sounds completely different than a migraine, as it is somewhat relieved by stopping the movement. Looking on Google is a good idea, but hopefully only follow the doctor's advice, not any concoction of pills that may work for one person, and injure another.

Hi Ronnie,
My best to P! I've had on-going issues following a car accident. I react really poorly to medication so we're always looking for other options. My doctor is setting up some acupuncture appointments to see if that helps. I'll let you know. Good luck!

I'm sorry P is having this trouble - for the both of you. It sounds like they really are very painful. I hope he finds something to ease him off soon. Maybe he could just massage your butt with hot creams until he's up to spanking again. It may be a bit like kissing your brother, but it might be better than nothing.

Hi Ronnie,
Sorry to hear about P; hope he finds out the cause soon. It may cost a fortune but a CT scan will reveal any pathological anomaly that may be the cause. I suffered like him for years and no amount of pain relievers, massages, physio and acupuncture helped. A CT scan (and subsequent MRI) followed by surgery to remove 3 ruptured disks cured the problem.

Better to treat the cause than just the symptoms. All the best

Jan - Thanks. He's definitely going to pay a visit to his doctor.

Roz - P's has had the lot, sickness, grand mal, auras and the vision but it's this funny head thing that came after the migraine that's lingering that he's trying to find out why it's lasting so long. I'll mention the tabs to him. Thanks.

Simon - Thank you. Nothing to do with his teeth but thanks for mentioning as you never know.

Hermione - Sounds like you did have a migraine. I'm really happy I don't suffer from them. I feel for anyone who does. Thanks.

SG - Thank you. Will mention the pillow to him. He said he may go to a chiropractor but waiting to see what doc says.

Baker - Thanks. It's just this after migraine pain that he wants to know about. Will mention tabs. Once this is sorted I shall look forward to presenting him with the list, could be a long one:)

Red - Thank you. Will pass on your best wishes to P. He's going to wait until he speaks with his doctor.

Amy - Thanks. Sorry to hear about your on going issues. P has had acupuncture in the past and son had migraines so he went to a acupuncture and seemed to have worked as he hasn't had a migraine. Keeping fingers crossed it works for you..

PK - Thanks. I like that idea, will mention it to P. LOL.

Don - Thank you. I think when he see the doc he'll book him in for a CT or MRI. Happy to hear your health problem is over.

P says thank you all for your best wishes.

Love
Ronnie

Poor man. The only serious headaches I have experienced were finally diagnosed as "acute sinusitis." I have never had such pain. I was hospitalized when the black outs started.

Your bottom will have to wait for any attention, Ronnie. Take good care of P.

Hugs Across the Pond,
Ella

I get migraines, sometimes I go months or years without them, then they are like buses, lots in succession. Over the years, they've changed - less painful, more nausea and movement does make them much worse. Funny, orgasms do help! But not spanking... I have regular massages, can't say it makes as big difference. I'm not sure anything really works except avoiding red wine. :(

Hi Ronnie, :) I'm so sorry to hear that P is suffering from migraine pain presently. You have gotten a good deal of suggestions. I think going to the doc, and having a CT scan is a great idea. It's always better to have a good look, I think. Please tell P that I am thinking of him, and hope that he feels better soon.

Reading on the internet can be good, and bad. So, I's start with my doc. Wishing him a swift recovery! Wishing you a short list to present to P when he feels better. Unless you want it to be long! ;) Many hugs,

<3 Katie

Ella - Acute sinusitis doesn't sound good. Happy you are over that. I'm taking very good care of him. Thank you.

DF - Thank you. I feel for anyone who suffers from migraines, P's has changed over the years. It's this head thing that's lingering after the migraine has gone, not right. I know some foods and red wine is a no no 's for migraine suffers.

Katie - Thank you. Yes Googling can be good but bad. The doctor is going to book him for scans then we'll be able to see what's going on.

Love,
Ronnie

Hi Ronnie, so sorry P is suffering with migraines at the moment. They are the pits. Maybe a trip to the doctor for some advice. I've used several different methods....rubbing lavender oil on my temples, a really tight bandana around my head, caffeine and lately a special necklace (which I lost). Good luck hope he finds some relief soon.
You're are so funny keeping a list of all the things you might have said. LOL!

Hi, needs docs opinion but I find massage as in sport massage helps with shoulder and neck pain which has the knock on effect of reducing tension which really helps when I get a migraine.
