A lot of men don't like to look at naked men advertising their underwear so JBS brought out a series of ads with women wearing men's pants and boxers to try and catch their attention, there's also a video. I think it's fair to say it would work.
Doesn't seem to quite work the opposite way round though, not for me anyway.
...............no matter who wears them :)
