Simply The Best

I said I'll tell you a little bit about the Tina Turner concert we went to on Monday, I'm a bit late but we've been really busy since getting back and now P tells me it's time we opened another business, non-related to our current work, hmm I'll tell more as and if we progress with that .  Sorry concert photos not brilliant.

Anyway we arrived at the hotel later than we'd planned as P was longer with our client than expected so quick shower for
both of us and a very 'too-quick' spanking for me, P likes to christen a hotel room its a little habit of his, I'm not complaining. Walking along Manchester's Deansgate towards the concert venue searching for fast service food we passed the Fantasy Bar, P said 'That looks interesting we'll stop off for a drink there on the way back'. I thought it looked a bit seedy, I snapped it on my new easy to use Nokia. We passed plenty of restaurants but none where we though we could be in and out within 30 mins so we ended up in a Burger King and made the Arena with 20 mins to spare.

Some of the songs she  sang -

Steamy Windows
Typical Male
River Deep Mountain High
What You Get Is
What You See
Better Be Good To Me
Acid Queen
Whats Love Got To Do With It
Private Dancer
We Dont Need
Another Hero
I Can't Stand The Rain
Jumping Jack Flash
Goldeneye
Addicted to Love
Simply the Best
Proud Mary
Be Tender With Me Baby
Nutbush City Limits

At one point she came out over
the stage on a hydraulic crane, hanging right over the crowd showering them with sweat as she leaned over and played to them which everybody loved.
Tina Turner was truly remarkable, 2 hours of pure pleasure and she worked so hard  for her audience, if you get the chance to see her go, definitely go.

I
f I'm as fit as her when I'm 69 /70 I will be well pleased.

I was dying to get up and dance but all around us nobody seemed up for it, don't get me wrong they all were having a great time just needed a bit of encouragement, so when Addicted to Love came on that was it I was up on my feet and you know what our whole section did the same, I hardly sat at all after that. She was brilliant.

It was near 11pm when we left the concert arena, it was warm for the time of year, we'd already decided we'd walk back, we didn't go into the Fantasy Bar, we passed it the doors were open and a couple of bouncers stood outside, it looked even more seedy in the dark, P said we'd just get a drink at the hotel instead. Ha all talk.

We only just made it they closed the bar at 11.30, whoever heard of that, I won't name the hotel. Maybe we should have stopped at the Fantasy Bar after all.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone with as much energy on stage as Tina....I remember thinking when we saw her live that she was like a human dynamo. Reading this brings back lots of memories of the concert we saw.

love and hugs xxx

The concert sounds fantastic!! I hear she give one of the best preformances out there today. You want to be that fit at 69/70 - man, I'd settle for hale that now!!

Glad you had such a great time.

Tell P that sometimes work is already interfering with your blogging time and an addition business might make it worse. Surely he will see the error of his ways! LOL!

big hugs,
PK

M:e - hello, just stopped for a cup of tea before heading to town and the bank, no time for lunch. I couldn't believe how much energy she had, I thought maybe she would do a few fast numbers and the rest some of her slower ones but no and when I think about it, that wouldn't be Tina would it? I am glad it brought back memories,I hope they were good ones :)

PK - hello, she is mind blowing at that age. I'm not sure who else I would like to see, to be honest have seen quite a few, went to the last Live 8 concert and there were a few big names there. Think I would like to see Lionel Richie though.

I will tell P what you said. Somebody mentioned retirement to me the other day, I said what's that. P likes to keep me busy :)

Thanks M:e, PK.
Love.

So glad you had fun! Sounds like a rotten hotel... I never heard of such a thing! I really like Tina, too. I remember her from the 80s and her "Mad Maxx" days, lol. I know I'm dating myself with that, but oh, well...

Hi all, sorry the post was a little messy but I'm having real problems with my text and pictures, not sure why, really getting to me. I'm going to ask P if it's possible to re-load the template without loosing anything. Keep your fingers crossed.

KItten - hi, she was a true professional, loved it.

Lessa - I do love going to concerts together and hope you have a lovely time this weekend.

Tiggs - I remember Mad Max and she was dressed like she was in the film for that song, great.

Hermione - I couldn't believe how good she was, have always wanted to see her so very glad we went.

Lothianne - hey, she sang all her old ones and I sang to most of them as well.

Cheekycherry - Yes it is a pity, don't know where she is performing after UK.

Tapestry - hi, hope your well. Thanks, had a lovely time.

Thanks, and as I said if you do get the chance to see her GO, you wont be disappointed.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

I Gal - hello, hope you are well, thanks for coming over. Was certainly a superb concert. She really did move around on stage, not like she used. Yoga and jogging for me.

Cleo - hello, lovely to to see you here. Thanks. I think even if somebody isn't a big fan of hers, your right, you do have to admire her.

Have a good weekend all.
