Apprentice boss in a lather

According to an article in yesterday's Sunday Times, well known British businessman Sir Alan Sugar, aka the hard nosed boss on TV's 'Apprentice' series (I think the US do a similar thing with Donald Trump), is fuming over a cheeky soap company www.lush.co.uk used his grizzly face to help promote one of their new products. Sir Alan apparently got his lawyers to write immediately to Lush demanding they discontinue using his face and name but the company has so far not backed down and its website this morning is still proudly promoting the new soap.

Now when lawyers get involved these things start to get very expensive. Obviously I don't know the ins and outs of any previous association Sir Alan may have had with Lush, but it all seems to be getting out of hand, I would have thought a seasoned 'toughie' like Sir Alan might have summoned the guilty Lush executive (I'm assuming its a girl) to that famous boardroom and settled the matter by way of a sound otk spanking for not requesting his permission, then agree some kind of royalty from the sales. That would seem far more civilised to me at least, no need for all that nasty litigation.

Then again maybe the Lush marketing exec is a burly 6' rugby player, well like I said I don't know all the ins and outs but come on Sir Alan, where's your sense of humour.

Ronnie,
I'm afraid the world has lost it's sense of humor and it's common sence. Does make it a great time to be a lawyer! There are MUCH better way of settling things (as all we spankers know). It might not be right for all situations but for many it's not only cheaper but soooooooooo much more fun.

Big hugs,
PK

Hi PK, I agree there's not enough humour around and lawyers certainly make enough money much more fun settling it our way :)

Thanks PK.

Love.

Ronnie - that sounds like the way to "handle" it.

Glad you like "Echoes". I first got hooked after I saw the movie "Circle of Friends" with Minnie Driver. Her book of short stories about Christmas if excellent. It's called "Next Year it will be Different".

Hugs,
Hermione

Lessa - hi, think we all could do with more humour. I love their products as well, bathroom smells beautiful.

Hermione - hello, oh lovely thanks, will take a look when I finished this one.

Davey - hiya, very nice of them, who ever said that. That's one thing I've never done, think it's pretty easy though. Wished I had picked this up last night because today I've got real probs with my laptop (using P's at the moment) and away for a few days in Finland else I would try it for you. Jay's good. I am real sorry Davey.
